About Us
Our Founder
Patricia Tyson is a classically-trained pianist and singer, and a hospice registered nurse. She has composed over 500 hymns, choral works and songs of inspiration. Many songs are in various languages: Hebrew, Spanish, French, German and Swahili. Patricia has a CD entitled, “I Shall Abide” as well as self-published songs.
Patricia’s songs encompass various genres, and her recently composed music is influenced by current events and causes. Every song that Patricia writes is intended to inspire, to encourage the singers and listeners, and to affect a change for positivity for a more excellent way of living, doing and being.
Our history
Shalom Music Inc is a social prescribing service (501c3) that was incorporated in 2024 by founder Patricia Tyson. The creative arts (music, dance, visual arts, theater, comedy and storytelling) are utilized virtually to provide expressive activities for palliative or hospice patrons, at no charge. As a hospice nurse, Patricia collaborates with the patron's medical team to provide care that features a network of musicians and other creative artists. A clinician will be present off-camera during these sessions to monitor the patrons' responses and provide feedback to the medical team. The goal is to prevent social isolation, reduce hospitalizations, decrease debilitating symptoms, and to promote quality of life with improved mental and physical well-being.
